We have been working in Berlin period buildings for over 20 years: Gründerzeit blocks in Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg, Art Nouveau villas in Steglitz-Zehlendorf, post-war buildings in Tempelhof. Each of these phases has its own timbers, profiles and joints, and that determines what can be kept.
Why a Historic Building Specialist?
Anyone working in a period building has to know what they are looking at. A Gründerzeit door is built differently from one from the 1950s, and a box-sash window will not take a repair made with modern construction adhesive. From Treptow we work regularly in Mitte, Charlottenburg, Schöneberg and Neukölln, and we know the building phases that stand there.
What we take on
Historic Doors & Windows
Restoration, refurbishment, or reproduction of heritage doors and box windows. We preserve the original character while improving thermal insulation and sound protection.
Paneled Door Restoration
Refurbishment of historic paneled doors: stripping, repairing damaged panels, new fittings, or restoration of original handles.
Materials & Techniques
We work with traditional materials and techniques: genuine timber joints, linseed oil glazes, shellac polishes, period fittings. Modern technology comes in where it earns its place, in thermal insulation, sound reduction and seals.

We look at what is there
We visit the flat, look at the period features and tell you what can be kept and what has to be replaced.
We clarify what needs approval
If the building is listed, we work out with you beforehand which jobs have to be cleared with the heritage authority.
We do the work
Traditional techniques where the fabric calls for them, modern materials where they do no harm. Repairs are made to match what is already in the building.
We fit and clear up
Fitting and adjusting on site. Afterwards we clear up and take our waste with us.
