Platform stair for a physiotherapy practice

An old door to a side room was opened up again. The difference in height between the hallway and the floor of the side room had to be made walkable.

Because the stair stands in a physiotherapy practice, the rules and formulas for a safe stair applied exactly: rise, going, handrail. The handrail sits on its own newel post and the bottom step is rounded at the front.

At the same time it had to suit the period building it stands in, without breaking the budget. It is built in oiled pine, in keeping with the floorboards around it.
