Erik Erdmann, Dipl.-Rest. (FH), carpenter
profiles
I was born in Marburg/Lahn in 1968.
After finishing high school, I completed an apprenticeship in carpentry in Cologne in 1994.
Following this, I was able to deepen my knowledge in various sectors of the woodworking craft and other sectors of the construction industry. By doing so, I was able to become very familiar with a variety of materials and working methods from other areas.
From 2001 to 2006 I studied at college in Cologne. (Cologne University of Applied Sciences). The field of study was the restoration and conservation of artistic and cultural heritage objects and wooden materials of modernity. I completed my studies, gaining my diploma as a qualified furniture conservator.
Since then I have been working as an independent restorer, initially in Cologne and since 2010 in Berlin.
Through my qualification as a certified carpenter, the many years of professional experience and my university degree specializing in wood, I was able to register as a master craftsman with the Berlin Chamber of Handicrafts in August 2013, Since then I have also worked with drywall technology and have particularly concentrated on the field of renovation of old buildings.
Due to spending substantial time abroad, I had the privilege of learning various foreign languages which makes the contact with an international clientele much easier.
