Erik Erdmann, Dipl.-Rest. (FH), carpenter

Profile

I was born in Marburg/Lahn in 1968.

After graduating from high school, I completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter in Cologne, graduating as a journeyman carpenter in 1994. I was then able to deepen my knowledge of various areas of the woodworking trade and other areas of the construction industry. In this way, I was introduced to a variety of materials and work areas from other trades.

From 2001 to 2006 I studied wood and modern materials at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, specializing in the restoration and conservation of art and cultural assets. I finished my studies with a diploma as a graduate restorer (FH).

Since then I have been working as a freelance restorer, first in Cologne and since 2010 in Berlin.

Thanks to my qualifications as a journeyman carpenter, many years of professional experience and my university degree in wood, I was able to register in the trade register of the Berlin Chamber of Crafts in August 2013, which made my carpentry workshop equivalent to a master craftsman. Since that time I have also been offering dry construction work and have specialized in the field of old building renovation.

Through numerous stays abroad, I had the privilege of learning several languages, which facilitates contact with international customers in particular.
